Sant'Anna School present at the National Conference "Valuing research and promoting the impact on society. Third mission projects of Italian universities" organized and hosted by the University of Padua
On 6 June, the Scuola Sant'Anna took part in the National Conference "Valorising research and promoting its impact on society. Third mission projects of Italian universities" organized by the University of Padua and held in the city's Botanical Garden.
47 Italian universities were present for a day entirely dedicated to sharing third mission experiences, discussing and gathering future challenges.
The day opened with the institutional greetings of Daniela Mapelli, Rector of the University of Padua, followed by the remote intervention of Marcella Gargano, General Director of the higher education institutions of the MUR and Claudio Pettinari, Rector of the University of Camerino and Delegate for Research and the Third Mission of the CRUI.
The event was introduced by Monica Fedeli, Unipd pro-rector with responsibility for the Third mission and relations with the territory. The discussion included four panels, more than 20 speakers and a keynote entitled "Why intelligent cities and regions need engaged universities to compete" held by Des McNulty (United Kingdom Research and Innovation) Local Policy Innovation Partnership Hub Advisory Board. In addition to the Italian universities, the Municipality of Padua, Confindustria Veneto Est and the Regional School Office for the Veneto were also present.
The Sant'Anna School was represented by Prof. Marco Frey, who participated as a speaker in the 2nd Panel entitled "AVA 3 in Italian universities: challenges and opportunities" together with Caterina Caripinato, Pro-Rector of the Third Mission of the Ca ' Foscari of Venice, Maria Letizia Guerra, Rector's Delegate for Public Engagement and President of the Third Mission Observatory of the University of Bologna, Fabio Musso, Pro-Rector of the Third Mission and Public Engagement of the University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" and Antonio Pescapè, Delegate of the Rector for innovation and the Third Mission of the University of Naples Federico II.
During the event some excellent Third Mission projects were presented, including two projects by the Sant'Anna School: with a pitch lasting just a few minutes, Cristiana Neri, Elisabetta Puzella and Moira Nazzari described the web series "Fantastic Researchers and where to find them" and the "Fuoriclasse" project built between 2022 and 2023.
